At this stage you’ve got metres and metres of fabric of different sorts lying around plus some now useless decorators overalls. You’re wondering how you’re ever going to make a costume for a character from Where The Wild Things Are. It’s time to get cracking.
In the photo you can see the armless overalls lying splayed on top of the cotton and then the fur below it. We decided to use cotton because the fur backing is rather rough and I’m such a delicate flower that I wanted it to be more comfy to wear. At this stage we are trying to decide whether to do both legs and the back in one piece or if it would make more sense to do two halves.
The next step, either way, is to draw an outline of the overalls template onto the cotton liner.

You are my savior. Since I was seven I’ve wanted to be Max for Halloween. I just never knew how to make the costume. If you have every step posted before Halloween, I will love you forever. Now, I think I will leave to go buy the material. Thank you so much!
This costume looks amazing, mate. Do you think that the steps are going to be up in time for Halloween? I’d really love to create this outfit.
Cheers!
This is great – I had already ordered adult footed pajamas as a base for mine or would have used it. BTW your girlfriend or whomever is in the yellow dress is exquisitely beautiful.
Happy Halloween!
